About the Role

This is a senior leadership position that requires a high level of expertise in business development and venture management. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing activities related to sourcing, screening, analyzing, planning, and developing business ventures or portfolios of ventures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the business development process from proposal to deal closure, including validating proposals, prioritizing business proposals, and offering commercial and technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with investors to establish strategic financial and operational goals and milestones for new ventures.
  • Review investor proposals, approve contract payments, and manage variations within authority limits.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure deal alignment and progression.
  • Lead business portfolios, manage development of commercial agreements, and provide analysis in reviewing legal documents.
  • Prepare, review, and present corporate committees and executive briefs.
  • Provide administrative direction to Business Development staff, including job performance appraisals and promotion recommendations.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Arts (Business and Management) or Bachelor of Science (Engineering) degree or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in business development and venture management.
  • Industry expertise and knowledge of specific business transaction and venturing activities.
  • Expertise in financial analysis of companies and transaction valuation.
  • Focused knowledge and experience in one or more of the following: carveout, divestment, financial restructuring, or initial public offering (IPO).
