We are seeking a skilled Radio Operator to join our team at Gulf Drilling International. This role is critical to ensuring seamless communication between drilling rigs, vessels, and other locations.

  • Key Duties:
  • Operate advanced technical communication systems, including radio/telephone networks, to facilitate message exchange between drilling rigs, Doha, vessels, and other locations.
  • Process and distribute incoming radio messages from supervisors or user units via radio equipment or landlines to various company locations, ships, and helicopters.
  • Monitor and report weather conditions and sea state as required by supervisors, ensuring timely broadcasts to relevant parties.
  • Manage the receipt and dispatch of urgent materials belonging to the company and clients via helicopters, following up on their status.
  • Maintain effective radio communication links between assigned drilling rigs, Doha vessels, and other locations during designated night shifts.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies in accordance with GDI's established procedures.

Essential Requirements:

  • Secondary (12 years) education/Diploma completion.
  • Experience working in drilling companies within the GCC region.
  • Strong communication skills in written and spoken English.
  • Familiarity with emergency response protocols.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in radio communications or hold a valid radio operator license.
