Job Summary:

Parsons Oman is seeking a highly skilled Structures/Bridges Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions for complex bridge and structural projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Development: Develop detailed structural designs for bridges, tunnels, underpasses, retaining walls, car parks, and public infrastructure-related buildings/structures.
  2. Design Documentation: Prepare and produce design drawings, calculations reports, and specifications.
  3. Team Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of engineers and CAD technicians as assigned by project task.
  4. Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and CAD technicians.
  5. Software Proficiency: Utilize standard engineering principles, techniques, and analyses to complete conventional and moderately complex assignments within the structure discipline.
  6. Software Proficiency: Proficient in utilizing engineering software packages associated with the structures discipline, including Midas Civil, CSi Bridge, SAP2000, and AutoCAD.
  7. Project Management: Track the progress of assigned designs and report to senior and principal engineers on status and any issues that may arise during design development.
  8. Support and Collaboration: Provide support to other engineering activities as required by senior and principal engineers.
  9. Self-Motivation: Demonstrate self-motivation and require minimal supervision on committed tasks.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Structural Engineering and 5+ years of related work experience, with a focus on hands-on design of structures.
  2. Software Skills: Intimate knowledge of software packages such as Midas Civil, CSi Bridge, SAP2000, and AutoCAD.
  3. Design Codes: Intimate knowledge of design codes, including British Standards, Eurocode, AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, and Ashghal IAN 009.
  4. Language Skills: Business-level English language skills sufficient to produce well-written reports and hold articulate verbal communications.
  5. Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with clients, management, and project personnel on technical and non-technical subjects.
  6. Registration: Must be registered as a MME.

Desired Qualifications:

  1. Master's Degree: Master's Degree in Structural Engineering is highly preferred.
  2. International Licenses: Possession of internationally recognized engineering licenses such as PE, SE, and CEng is highly preferred.
  3. Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Revit software.
  4. Communication Skills: Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
