Job Summary:

The ELV Planning Engineer is responsible for planning and coordinating all activities related to Extra-Low Voltage systems in construction projects. This includes the design, implementation, and management of ELV systems such as security systems, Access Control Systems, CCTV systems, Audio-Visual systems, PA/BGM Systems, Intercom Systems, Gate Barriers & Speed Gate Systems. The ELV Planning Engineer collaborates with project teams to ensure that ELV systems are integrated effectively and meet the project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. System Design and Planning:
    • Develop detailed system designs and plans for ELV systems based on project requirements and specifications.
    • Coordinate with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project objectives and design constraints.
    • Prepare technical drawings, schematics, and layouts for ELV systems.
    • Conduct site surveys to assess existing infrastructure and determine system implementation strategies.
  2. Project Coordination:
    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and technicians to ensure timely and accurate implementation of ELV systems.
    • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to procure necessary equipment and materials.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to installation teams during system deployment.
    • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and propose solutions to ensure project milestones are met.
  3. Quality Assurance:
    • Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure that ELV systems are installed and commissioned in compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
    • Perform testing and troubleshooting of ELV systems to identify and rectify any performance issues.
    • Ensure that all documentation, including as-built drawings, operation manuals, and test reports, are properly maintained.
  4. Technical Support and Training:
    • Provide technical support to clients, project teams, and end-users regarding ELV systems.
    • Conduct training sessions for project teams and end-users on the operation and maintenance of ELV systems.
    • Stay updated with industry advancements and emerging technologies related to ELV systems.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Telecommunication Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Planning Engineer, preferably with a focus on ELV systems.
  • Strong knowledge of Extra-Low Voltage systems such as structured cabling, Access Control Systems, CCTV systems, Audio-Visual systems, PA/BGM Systems, Intercom Systems, Gate Barriers & Speed Gate Systems.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or other design software for creating technical drawings and layouts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Oracle Primavera software.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations such as MOI-SSD regulations for CCTV systems, Qatar Construction Specifications – QCS 2014, Ashghal standards & regulations, etc.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Project management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
