Job Description

Nasser Bin Khaled and Sons seeks a reliable and skilled Heavy Driver to join our team. As a key player in our transportation department, you will be responsible for operating heavy vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods, materials, or passengers to designated locations.

Key Tasks

  • Operate heavy vehicles, adhering to all applicable traffic laws, regulations, and safety guidelines.
  • Inspect the vehicle before and after trips, reporting any defects, damages, or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Load and unload cargo or materials securely, minimizing the risk of damage.
  • Determine and follow the most efficient routes to meet delivery schedules, considering traffic conditions, road restrictions, and customer requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers or transportation coordinators to receive instructions, updates, or changes to delivery routes or schedules.
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle inspections, fuel consumption, mileage, and other required documentation.
  • Prioritize customer satisfaction, addressing inquiries, concerns, or complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, performing routine cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Follow proper procedures for the safe handling of hazardous materials, if applicable.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff, loaders, and other personnel to optimize loading and unloading processes.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to safety, security, and vehicle operation.
  • Attend training sessions or workshops as required to maintain and update knowledge of relevant regulations, technologies, and best practices.
  • Report any accidents, incidents, or traffic violations promptly to the appropriate authorities and company representatives.
  • Maintain a professional and respectful attitude, representing the company in a positive light during interactions with customers, suppliers, and the public.

Requirements

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with necessary endorsements.
  • Basic computer skills for maintaining digital records and communication.
  • Thorough understanding of traffic laws and regulations.
  • Excellent driving skills and knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with loading and unloading procedures for heavy vehicles.
  • Proficiency in using GPS navigation systems and fleet management software.
  • Knowledge of route planning and optimization.
