Job Overview

The Procurement Expert will be responsible for producing specialist procurement expert knowledge to achieve procurement activities, resolve critical/complex issues, and identify long-term business improvements. This role requires a strong understanding of the oil and gas industry and its complexities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on complex purchasing and sensitive issues to ensure the most appropriate action is taken.
  • Produce professional procurement expertise to achieve complex and critical purchasing activities such as shutdowns, plant emergencies, and ensure quality, cost, and time targets.
  • Recommend effective procurement strategies and review technical specifications for major and critical purchases regarding specific commodities such as mechanical, electrical, instrument, chemicals, etc.
  • Recommend and implement internal or cross-functional procedure and process improvements that support the achievement of business and professional objectives such as efficiency and cost savings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Commercial discipline, or other relevant degree.
  • 8 years' experience in a purchasing, procurement environment within the oil and gas industry.
