Job Summary

Asterix Communications is seeking a highly skilled Field Engineer II to join our team. As a key member of our drilling operations team, you will be responsible for providing on-site supervision of the Directional Drilling (DD) process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site supervision of the DD process, including projection of well path to predetermined target coordinates.
  • Understand principles of Bottom Hole assembly (BHA) selection and aspects of DD performance, ensuring that BHA's are assembled as planned.
  • Proficient in the use of DD computer software and assist in providing advice and analysis to the client representative at the well site.
  • Assist in the completion of daily DD reports, BHA performance reports, and relevant paperwork.
  • Ensure that all equipment is laid out after use in accordance with company procedures and manifested for backload at the end of the job.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in a STEM discipline.
  • 6 months working experience as a Field Prof-DD, I.
  • Ability to read and interpret designed well plans, directional survey information, and other well site data.
  • Technical aptitude of required standards.
  • Good communication, arithmetic, data entry, and recording skills.
  • Relevant rig safety certificates.
