Senior Estimation Engineer

Swan Global is seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our estimating team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and detailed estimates for civil infrastructure and building projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement estimating policies and standards to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Utilize estimating software to create detailed estimates and manage tender documents.
  • Collaborate with estimating and operations staff to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Manage tender packages, ensuring all documents are complete and correct.
  • Prioritize tenders based on type and deadline, ensuring timely submission.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and requirements to grasp the project scope and identify potential risks.
  • Prepare tender briefs and preliminary estimates using historical data and industry benchmarks.
  • Identify and engage with subcontractors and suppliers, leading the Request for Quotation (RFQ) preparation process.
  • Verify quantity take-offs and calculations to ensure accuracy.
  • Review documents, identify discrepancies, and list clarifications to ensure clarity.
  • Check cost estimates for trades, considering project requirements, time, quality, and efficiency.
  • Respond to subcontractor/supplier queries and compare quotations to ensure best value.
  • Analyze material prices, labor productivity, and equipment costs to optimize estimates.
  • Prepare detailed and indirect cost estimates, including site logistics and potential issues.
  • Build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Propose cost-saving solutions without compromising quality.
  • Identify potential risks and prepare a summary report to inform project decisions.
  • Write high-quality proposals and presentations to communicate estimates and project plans.
  • Innovate methods to enhance project effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Submit complete tender packages on time, ensuring timely project execution.
  • Maintain accurate files and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required.
