Duty Manager

Job Summary

The Duty Manager is a key member of the Front Office team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the reception area and providing exceptional guest service. This role requires a high level of organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the reception team, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard and that guests receive excellent service.
  • Manage the front desk and reception area, ensuring that it is clean, tidy, and well-organized at all times.
  • Handle guest complaints and issues in a professional and courteous manner, resolving problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Coordinate the arrival and departure of guests, ensuring that all necessary arrangements are made and that guests are aware of any special requirements or services.
  • Assist with the management of the hotel's property management system, ensuring that all guest information is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as housekeeping and engineering, to ensure that guests receive a seamless and enjoyable experience.
  • Monitor and control the hotel's cash and credit transactions, ensuring that all financial procedures are followed accurately.
  • Perform other duties as required, including assisting with training and development of the reception team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a supervisory role in a luxury hotel environment.
  • Proficient in the English language and local language (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests, colleagues, and other departments.
  • Knowledge of property management systems and Windows, MS Office Suite an asset.
