Demi Chef de Partie

We are seeking a talented and experienced Demi Chef De Partie to join our team. As a Demi Chef De Partie, you will be responsible for assisting the Chef De Partie in ensuring the highest standards of culinary excellence are maintained in our kitchen.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and presentation of dishes according to the established recipes and standards.
Support the Chef De Partie in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
Assist in inventory management and stock control.
Follow all health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
Contribute to menu planning and development as required.
1. Food Preparation and Cooking
Station Management: Work in a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., pastry, sauces, grill, or vegetables) under the guidance of the Chef de Partie. Take responsibility for the preparation and cooking of dishes in that section.
Following Recipes: Ensure that all food items are prepared according to the restaurant's or hotel's recipes, standards, and presentation guidelines.
Cooking Dishes: Cook and plate dishes according to the menu specifications. Ensure that each dish is prepared with attention to detail, quality, and consistency.
Handling Special Requests: Accommodate special requests from guests, such as dietary restrictions or special orders, ensuring they are prepared to the same high standards.
2. Supporting Senior Kitchen Staff
Assist Chef de Partie: Assist the Chef de Partie in managing their section of the kitchen, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and to standard.
Training and Learning: Actively learn from the Chef de Partie and senior kitchen staff, developing your skills and gaining experience in different areas of kitchen operations.
Teamwork: Work effectively with other kitchen staff, including other Demi Chefs, Commis Chefs, and kitchen assistants, to ensure a smooth kitchen operation.
3. Inventory and Stock Control
Ingredient Preparation: Prepare ingredients for use in cooking, including cleaning, chopping, and portioning. Ensure the section's ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
Stock Management: Assist with stock rotation and inventory management in your section, ensuring ingredients are used before they expire and managing waste.
Ordering Ingredients: In some cases, a Demi Chef de Partie may assist in ordering ingredients for their section, helping ensure sufficient stock levels for service.
Proven work experience as a Demi Chef De Partie or similar role in a luxury hotel or high-end restaurant environment.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food preparation, and presentation.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Culinary Skills: Strong foundational knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and food preparation methods. Experience in a professional kitchen is usually required.
Creativity: Ability to present food creatively and with attention to detail, contributing to the overall dining experience.
Teamwork: Ability to work well within a team and collaborate with others in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Time Management: Strong time management skills to ensure that food is prepared and served on time, especially during busy service periods.
Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail, ensuring every dish meets quality, presentation, and taste standards.
Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and work in a physically demanding environment.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changes in orders, busy periods, or special requests.
Cleanliness and Hygiene: Knowledge of kitchen hygiene practices and ability to maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
