**Lighting Design Engineer**

**Doha, Qatar**

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented **Lighting Design Engineer**to join our team In this role you will get to conduct and support the delivery of complete Lighting networks/systems in major infrastructure and buildings projects.

**What You'll Be Doing**:

- Utilize your infrastructure engineering background and experience on infrastructure projects to understand the requirements for lighting networks (roads, landscape, tunnels/underpasses), feeder pillars, short circuit and voltage drop calculations, street lighting, tunnel MEP, and tunnel lighting.
- Perform complete lighting calculations and designs, including load schedules and feeder pillar schematics, ensuring they meet required standards and quality.
- Develop lighting deliverables for all project phases, including conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design.
- Design building lighting systems (normal and emergency), area lighting, distribution board schedules, lighting controls, and schematics.
- Create typical lighting specifications, installation details, general requirements, testing protocols, and commodity specifications.
- Conduct software-based lighting calculations, voltage drop calculations, short circuit analyses, and protective device coordination analyses.
- Coordinate with other discipline engineers and CAD Technicians to meet project requirements and timelines.
- Ensure all designs comply with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Support project submittals and No Objection Certificates (NOC) processes with relevant authorities.
- Stay updated with technical developments within the discipline.
- Understand the contract and scope of project deliverables.
- Embed Health & Safety practices into all work in line with company policies.
- Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to seniors or the MEP manager.
- Attend and contribute to team and project meetings as required.
- Complete accurate timesheets by the set deadline.

**What Required Skills You'll Bring**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- At least 5-10 years of overall experience in electrical design development including Street lighting design roads, landscape, tunnels/ underpass.
- Advanced proficiency in relevant software including AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, ETAP, Dialux Evo, AGI32. CYMCAPetc.
- Must have thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
- Excellent written and oral communication ability to develop strong working relationships with the team and other disciplines.
- Must have good knowledge of QHDM, National Electrical Code, IEEE, ANSI, IESNA, NFPA and IEC and various local authority standards in the GCC like Kahramaa. Qatar Civil Defense, PWA, SEC, DEWA
- Experience and proficiency in using Agi32, Dialux Evo, ETAP software for calculations
- Experience in civil 3D, Navisworks environment and BIM software as well as Revit software is also necessary
