Storekeeper - (F&b or Fmcg Background)

he Storekeeper will be responsible for managing and overseeing the storage and inventory of goods in the warehouse, ensuring that products are organized, stocked, and available for use or dispatch. This role is crucial for maintaining the efficiency of the supply chain, particularly in the context of Food & Beverage (F&B) or Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sectors.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Inventory Management**:
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of stock levels, receipts, and dispatches.
- Conduct regular physical inventory checks and reconcile with system data.
- Monitor product shelf life, expiry dates, and proper storage conditions to avoid waste, particularly for perishable goods.
- Organize stock in a manner that ensures easy access and retrieval.
- **Receiving & Dispatching Goods**:
- Verify deliveries against purchase orders and invoices, ensuring correct quantities and conditions.
- Coordinate with suppliers for timely deliveries.
- Manage the proper storage of goods upon arrival to prevent damage and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Oversee the dispatch of products, ensuring the correct items are sent in a timely manner.
- **Stock Control**:
- Maintain stock levels in line with operational needs, including reordering supplies as necessary.
- Implement an efficient system for monitoring and controlling stock movement.
- Ensure that stock rotation (FIFO or FEFO) is followed for all items, particularly for perishable items in the F&B/FMCG sectors.
- **Health & Safety Compliance**:
- Ensure that products are stored in a hygienic environment, particularly in food-related storage.
- Adhere to safety standards and ensure the storage area is organized, clean, and compliant with legal and company regulations.
- Implement and monitor safety practices for the safe handling and storage of hazardous materials.
- **Documentation & Reporting**:
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements and reports.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or losses to management promptly.
- Generate daily, weekly, or monthly inventory reports as required.
- Collaborate with the procurement and sales teams to ensure stock is available for production or distribution.
- **Team Collaboration**:
- Work closely with the procurement, operations, and sales teams to ensure seamless flow of materials.
- Assist in training and guiding junior warehouse staff.
- Support operational teams in meeting their inventory and stocking needs.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in warehouse management is a plus.
- **Experience**:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the F&B or FMCG industry.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and systems (e.g., ERP systems, WMS).
- **Skills**:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy in stock management.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations, particularly for food or FMCG products.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members.
