Ensuring that all users are properly trained according to facility requirements.
- Verifying that all projects conducted in the facility have the necessary ethical approvals before commencement.
- Providing supervision and support to the Zebrafish Laboratory Technologists.
- Consulting with facility users to ensure that research goals are met using the most humane and ethical methods in line with approved protocols.
- Developing protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) based on international guidelines for facility activities and ensuring all documents are kept up to date.
- Establishing recording systems to monitor all facility activities.
- Overseeing routine equipment maintenance and ensuring animal health checks are properly conducted and recorded.
- Ensuring that proper emergency plans are in place and followed.
- Supervising and participating in research activities within the facility.
- Collaborating with researchers and laboratory technicians in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of research projects.
- Producing high-quality research publications.
- Assisting with practical training during workshops related to the scientific and research fields.
- Liaising with equipment suppliers regarding technical specifications of procured equipment.
- Maintaining confidentiality of information at all times.
- Ensuring that all projects are approved by relevant ethical committees.
- Publishing research articles in their field of expertise.
- Assisting in organizing workshops related to their field.

**Qualifications**:

- Doctoral degree in Biomedical Sciences or related fields.
- Knowledge and experience in Zebrafish husbandry systems and handling of zebrafish embryos/adults.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- At least 3 years of experience in a Zebrafish Facility.
- Expertise in common zebrafish techniques and assays, including genetic techniques, microscopic imaging, motility systems, and disease models.
- Proven track record of publications and research funding.
- Experience supervising students.
- Experience organizing workshops and training sessions.
