Warehouse Team Leader

Qatar Distribution Company is currently looking for a Warehouse Team Leader.

The Qatar Distribution Company (QDC) is the only licensed retail distributor of wines and spirits in Qatar. The store has a wide range of beverages that can be purchased by licensed hotels and qualifying private individuals.

About the Role

To lead a warehouse team to ensure rapid, efficient, safe movement and storage of stock so that it is in the right place at the right time to maximize sales opportunities whilst minimizing stock shortages, breakage and other material handling costs. Assist Warehouse Officer in SOP implementation, container receiving planning, effective resources organization and brief the team on forward plans and periodical safety briefing.

Role Accountabilities
- Effective resource and equipment planning based on overall planned warehouse operations for each day. Ensure proper pallet labelling and picking of stock in accordance with expiry dates and vintages in order to minimize stock losses.
- Rapid, efficient and safe unloading of containers to ensure stock available for sale in shortest possible time. Correct pallet configurations as per guidelines by product.
- Ensure all stock receipts are correctly recorded in the GRNs to eliminate errors in inventory, expiry dates of each product are thoroughly checked and promptly recorded in the GRNs to prevent stock write-off opportunities, stocks are palletized safely in accordance with company guidelines; correctly labelled and bar coded; correctly stored in agreed locations and correctly handled to minimize breakages.
- Responsible for a rapid, accurate and efficient order picking for On Trade orders to ensure goods are ready when required and stored neatly and safely prior to collection.
- Provides attention to warehouse equipment maintenance by service providers on a timely manner to ensure all equipment are in good condition and causing no operational disruptions due to lack of maintenance.
- Ensure each and every activities are carried out as per company SOP.
- Perform other department duties related to his position as directed by the Head of the Department.

**Qualifications**:
About You
- Relevant Vocational, Tertiary or Trade qualification
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role.
- Operating warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, powered pallet trucks
- Forklift driving experience.

Job Specific Skills
- Organization skills along with basic mathematics
- Must be able to communicate, read and write in English.
- Knowledge of stacking, storage, climate control standards in same or similar business.
- Knowledge of overseas and inland logistics activities
- Knowledge of marine insurance procedures
- Knowledge of warehouse layout and effective organization of storage in a warehouse.
