Project Engineer

**Reports To: Project Manager**
**Supervises: Project Coordinator coordinates with Site Engineers**

**Role Purpose**:
To support the Project Manager in planning, execution, coordinating, and monitoring all phases of **steel structure** & Process Piping projects — from engineering, procurement, fabrication and site activities — ensuring timely delivery, cost control, and compliance with quality and safety standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Project Planning & Coordination**
- Attend Kick Off Meeting
- Understand full scope from contract, drawings, and specifications.
- Break down the scope into actionable tasks across Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Site activities.
- Develop and maintain project tracking systems (engineering deliverables, PQD, Material Submittal, Method statement, ITP, RA, procurement status, fabrication & erection progress).
- Prepare project execution plans, tracking sheets, and look-ahead schedules.
- Ensure key milestones are achieved as per baseline program.

**2. Engineering & Documentation Control**
- Coordinate with the Engineering Team to ensure timely release of Shop drawings submission for client approval, verify BOM for material purchase and fabrication drawing release.
- Review drawing submissions and ensure design intent is met.
- Track and follow up on client approvals for shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, ITPs, RA, etc.
- Maintain up-to-date document registers and logs, like variation tracker, drawing submission and approval register, Fabrication, delivery & IR tracker.

**3. Procurement & Material Readiness**
- Monitor procurement status of materials and components based on project schedule.
- Verify material availability and match with erection sequences.
- Coordinate with procurement and store teams for dispatches to site.

**4. Fabrication & Erection Follow-up**
- Liaise with the fabrication department to ensure prioritization as per erection sequence and delivery.
- Verify readiness of items (NDT, painting, final inspection, tagging and delivery) for dispatch.
- Prepare and verify the site readiness checklist and erection planning inputs.
- Coordinate with Site Engineers to ensure accurate installation and for daily reports.

**5. Communication & Reporting**
- Conduct internal coordination meetings and attend client/project review meetings.
- Escalate delays or risks to the Project Manager with mitigation plans.
- Prepare and submit weekly progress reports and client reports.
- Maintain logs for RFIs, NCRs, drawing approvals, submission approvals, delivery notes, and inspection reports.

**6. Quality, Safety & Compliance**
- Ensure compliance with project ITPs, Method Statements, and client specifications.
- Support QC team in inspections and closure of inspection comments.
- Follow-up site team to make site inspections and approvals
- Ensure all site and shop activities meet HSE standards in coordination with Safety Officers.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in civil/mechanical engineering in **steel structure**related field.
- Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in structural steel / Process Piping documentation & project execution.
- Strong understanding of **steel fabrication and erection processes.**:

- Familiarity with engineering drawings (GA, shop, erection), BOQs, and material specs.

**Key Skills & Competencies**:

- Project coordination and time management.
- MS Excel, MS Project / Primavera (preferred), AutoCAD (basic).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of QA/QC and HSE procedures.
- ERP knowledge (preferred).
