**What we want**

A Research Associate contributes to the theoretical development of the project, such as identifying an appropriate research design and collecting data. A Research Associate disseminates findings from the research to relevant non-academic audiences through reports and other mechanisms. Contributes in writing of journal articles and book chapters, and organizes and oversees academic workshops. Also participates in national and international conferences and workshops to present the results of the project.

**Required Education and Experience**:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- Two years of related professional experience.

**Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

**Essential Duties/Tasks**:

- Contributes to the theoretical development of the project.
- Identifies an appropriate research design.
- Collects data. Modeling includes optimization, artificial neural network, and simulation.
- Disseminating findings from the research to relevant non-academic audiences through reports and other mechanisms identified as appropriate as the project progresses.
- Contributing to the writing of journal articles and book chapters and organizing and overseeing academic workshops.
- Writing of mid-project and end-of-project reports.
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of relationships with relevant stakeholders.
- Participating in national and international conferences and workshops to present the results of the project to academic, policy and practice audiences and to learn about current advances in the field.
- Organization and mentoring of students and less senior research staff.
