**Principal Highway Design Engineer**

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented **Principal Highway Design Engineer**to join our team In this role you will get to function as Discipline project Supervising Engineer on medium to large projects, assuming responsibility for the work of the project team.

**What You'll Be Doing**:

- Act as the Discipline Project Supervising Engineer, leading and managing medium to large highway design projects.
- Oversee the design and development of highway systems, ensuring adherence to engineering standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Plan, direct, and supervise the work of a major engineering task or project requiring large scale expenditure of manpower and financial investment.
- Perform complex engineering road and highway tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately;
- Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
- Ensures compliance of design with all applicable standards and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract.
- Develops standard design procedures; prepares design briefs and may conduct on-site training of personnel.
- Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies.
- Helps determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. May assist Section Supervisors with other administrative and technical duties.
- Recommends and prepares technical papers.

**What Required Skills You'll Bring**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and 10 years of progressive experience in highway design, with a proven track record of successfully managing medium to large transportation related projects.
- Chartered Engineer
- Proficiency in utilizing Civil 3D / AutoCAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required.
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills notably with various levels of the organization and externally.
- MME-UPDA Grade A.
