The Rig Safety Officer, Drilling provides field HSE support and guidance to all drilling activities and drilling assets. He will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of Drilling HSE activities at offshore rig in accordance with assigned responsibilities and established performance targets. 1. Offshore based. 2. Assisting the Drilling Management in the development and delivery of best in class Drilling HSE Management Processes. 3. Ensure the timely identification of HSE hazards, evaluation of risks for all activities and development of effective tools to manage and reduce these risks to ALARP. 4. Assist Drilling and Completions department and contractor teams to deliver an exemplary HSE performance. 5. Demonstrate excellent safety leadership and behaviours, ensuring that the company safety expectations are communicated and maintained. 6. Foster a safe culture by being informed, mindful, learning, fair and respectful. 7. Be aware of all platform and jacket major Safety risks and ongoing operational risks and countersign any associated with safety impact. 8. Investigate incidents and implement learnings throughout the drilling operations team. 9. Carry out safety audits and inspections as per audit matrix / plan (e.g. Drops audits, area inspections, PTW audits, lifting operations audit, chemical & explosives storage inspections etc.). 10. Promote and coach team members in behavioural HSE. 11. Participate in Incident investigations. 12. Attend HSE and technical training as deemed necessary by the company. 13. Providing input to leading and lagging drilling HSE performance measures. 14. Providing input to the collection of Lessons Learned for the Drilling activities. 15. Leading and participating in Drilling Safety Audits & Reviews. 16. Providing Drilling Safety input to HSE Management Reviews. 17. Liaising with Rig Contractor Safety Advisor, OIM, Drilling Supervisor to increase HSE awareness. 18. Conduct training sessions and review contractor drills to maintain and increase staff and contractor competency. 19. Coaching Rig teams on HSE and conduct HSE engagement sessions with them. Experience & Skills Min 10 years' experience in HSE, out of which at least 5 years in drilling/workover operations within the oil and gas industry. Must be able to demonstrate a thorough working knowledge and experience of health and safety management systems as well as a sound understanding of Process Safety and HSE auditing. Should be able to communicate effectively at all levels, from rig crew workers to senior management. Should have a good presentation skills to conduct basic HSE Awareness training sessions. Education 1. A Diploma/degree/certificate in Health & Safety or demonstrated industry relevant experience. 2. Aware of latest HSE International Codes and Regulations such as IMO, ISO 9001, IS014001, OHSAS 18001.
