Senior Designer

Our client, a multinational corporation (MNC) operating in the oil and gas sector, is currently seeking a Senior Designer - Civil & Structural (Onshore) for an upcoming high-profile project. **Job Title: Senior Designer - Civil & Structural (Onshore)**
**Salary: QAR 13,000-QAR 16,000**
**Location: Qatar**
**Industry: Oil & Gas (Brownfield Projects)**
**Contract Type: Full-Time/Contract**
**Contract Duration: 6 Months (Extendable)**
**Working Days: Sunday to Thursday**
**Working Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM**
**Experience Level: Senior (12+ Years)**

**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and update **brownfield civil and structural drawings** across **Concept, FEED, and Detailed Design** phases.
- Prepare and update **underground composite drawings**, including detailed **drainage layouts and sections**.
- Generate **architectural drawings** for **new buildings**, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and external works.
- Prepare **general arrangement (GA)** and **detailed drawings** for:

- **Reinforced concrete structures**:

- **Steel structures** including **pipe supports, pipe racks, platforms, and foundations**:

- Prepare detailed drawings of **auxiliary steel structures**, including **handrails, ladders, stairs**, and **grating platforms**.
- Coordinate with engineers to translate engineering concepts and calculations into construction-ready 2D drawings.
- Ensure that all drawings are compliant with **project standards**, **client specifications**, and **international codes**.
- Manage and maintain **drawing registers**, revisions, and documentation in line with quality and project requirements.
- Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure consistency and integration of design across engineering teams.
- Support in-site visits and surveys when needed for drawing updates and validation.
- Ensure timely submission of drawing deliverables aligned with project schedules and milestones.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma or Degree in **Civil Engineering**, **Structural Drafting**, or a related field.
- Certification in AutoCAD or equivalent drafting software is an advantage.

**Experience**:

- Minimum **12 years** of hands-on experience in **brownfield civil & structural design** within the **oil & gas industry**.
- Strong understanding of design standards, drafting practices, and construction documentation.
- **Experience in Qatar**, particularly with **Oryx GTL** or similar clients, is a significant advantage.

**Technical Skills**:

- Proficient in **AutoCAD (2D)** drafting and detailing.
- Strong experience in developing civil/structural GA and detail drawings.
- Familiarity with Qatar-specific standards and documentation practices.
- Ability to interpret and visualize engineering input into accurate technical drawings.

**Soft Skills**:

- High attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.
