We are looking to hire a highly-skilled tailor to construct, alter, modify, and repair garments for our customers. The tailor's responsibilities include restyling old or outdated garments based on customers' specifications, sewing zippers, buttons, hooks and eyes, or snap fasteners onto garments as needed, and assisting customers in selecting suitable fabric. You should also be able to prepare completed garments for pick-up by ironing out creases and removing chalk marks.

Employee Duties & Responsibilities

1) Stores, inventories, and issues or distributes bed and table linen uniforms in establishments, like hotels, hospitals, and clinics.

2) Collects or receives and segregates, counts and records number of items of soiled linen uniforms for repair or laundry and places items in containers.

3) Examines laundered items to make sure cleanliness serviceability.

4) Stamps items with identifying marks.

5) Stores laundered items on shelves, after verifying numbers types of items.

6) Counts and assembles laundered items on cart or linen truck, records amounts of linens uniforms to fill requisitions, and transports carts to floors.

7) Conducts monthly yearly inventories to identify items for replacement.

8) Keeps linen room in clean orderly condition.

9) May mend torn articles with needle and thread or sewing machine or send articles to Sewer, Linen Room hotel rest.

QUALIFICATIONS,EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven experience working as a tailor.
- Sound knowledge of fabrics as well as clothing design and construction.
- The ability to use a sewing machine.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Outstanding sewing skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Detail-oriented.
