**Resident Engineer (Civils)**

Doha, Qatar

The primary duties of the Resident Engineer include the ability to work with mínimal supervision, independently perform all aspects of field engineering assignments including development of plans, schedules, contracts, procedures, and construction methods and systems for an assigned project, or a designated area of a large project. The Resident Engineer will also be able to provide technical guidance to lower-level field engineering personnel as well as interfacing with client and upper-level management.

Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, or construction site locations is expected. Our Senior Engineers are expected to be versatile and enthusiastic and able to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environment and have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills.

**Responsibilities**:

- Monitoring and coordinating all contractors' activities for assigned area of rail.
- Developing discipline construction schedules and monitoring progress.
- Providing schedule and progress appraisal report to the Construction Manager.
- Monitoring material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline. Ensuring that materials received meet specifications and established standards of quality.
- Maintaining first-level quality assurance to confirm that the installation of all work within their discipline is in accordance with the plans, specifications, and industry standards.
- Supervising the construction engineering work and provide technical expertise for one or more of the construction engineering disciplines, as well as survey personnel.
- Ensuring that tests and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in accordance with approved procedures.
- Collaborating with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.
- Ensuring that personnel of the assigned group engage in safe work practices in compliance with site-specific safety procedures and industry standards.
- Establishing and maintaining liaison with the discipline design engineering staff.
- Reviewing and interpreting discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current revision level and correct technical execution of the work.
- Initiating and maintaining records, back-charge procedures, progress reports, etc., as required.
- Organizing the data for the final project turnover and report.

**Qualifications**:

- BSc degree in engineering or construction-related field.
- At least 10 years post graduate experience on major civil projects.
- Rail, metro or related GCC project experience.
- Strong track record in managing a multidisciplinary team of engineers
- Ability to multitask and effectively problem-solve as well as ability to manage multiple projects at any given time, including labour budgeting and project schedules.
- Good insight and background with regard to materials testing with an emphasis on quality, safety and adherence (i.e. soil, concrete, grout, dewatering, load testing, etc.) materials delivery, staging, scheduling, coordination, etc.
