**Job Summary**:
Responsible for the preparation, baking, and presentation of desserts, pastries, and other sweet goods. Working closely with the Pastry Chef / Head Chef to ensure that all pastry items are produced to the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Prepare and bake a variety of desserts, pastries, cakes, tarts, and other sweet treats according to established recipes and guidelines.
2. Ensure all pastry products are prepared with precision, maintaining consistency in flavor, texture, and appearance.
3. Properly measure and mix ingredients, monitor baking times, and control oven temperatures to ensure high-quality results.
4. Monitor inventory levels of pastry ingredients and report shortages to the Pastry Chef or Head Chef.
5. Assist in placing orders for sugar, flour, chocolate, butter, and other pastry essentials to ensure sufficient stock is available for daily kitchen operations.
6. Minimize waste by accurately measuring ingredients and creatively utilizing leftovers.
7. Work closely with other sections of the kitchen to coordinate the preparation and cooking of pastry items.
8. Assist in training junior kitchen staff in pastry techniques and proper handling of ingredients
9. Contribute to maintaining a positive and collaborative kitchen environment.
10. Ensure that all pastry items leaving the kitchen meet the restaurant’s standards for quality, taste, and presentation.
11. Perform regular quality checks on ingredients and finished products to ensure freshness and compliance with health and safety regulations.
12. Maintain consistency in the portioning, appearance, and texture of all pastry items.
13. Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and cooking of pastry ingredients.
14. Keep the pastry area clean, organized, and sanitized, following strict hygiene protocols.
15. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the Pastry Chef or Head Chef.
16. Collaborate with the Pastry Chef and Head Chef to contribute ideas for new desserts and seasonal menu changes.
17. Participate in menu tastings, offering expertise on pastry techniques, flavor combinations, and presentation.
18. Performs other duties assigned.
**Qualification, Experience & Knowledge**
- Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts, Pastry, or a related field from a recognized culinary school or training program.
- Proven experience as a Demi Chef De Partie or Chef De Partie in a professional kitchen, with expertise in pastry.
- Strong pastry skills with an emphasis on precision, creativity, and consistency.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Attention to detail and a passion for pastry.
- With Valid Food Handling Certificate.
- With Valid QID and NOC.
- Can join immediately.
