Cargo Services Supervisor

About role

As Cargo Services Supervisor, you will be responsible for the general control of the shift in Airside and wherever cargo is located, stored, prepared or manifested.

Supervise the shift to a level where all cargo will ‘fly as booked’ or is speedily ‘ready for delivery’ in order to ensure safety and security
- Maintain 100% Safety, Security and punctuality in all aspects of freight handling.
- Brief all staff on day to day operational requirements, special handling, circular and other management information and ensure staff are 100% knowledgeable on current work instructions, rules and regulations
- Ensure all cargo/ULD build up are fit to fly and as per airline requirements
- Identify special loads for all flights & plan and handle them as per the specific requirements of the airline.
- Monitor and measure ‘best practice’ processes against Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), reports, audits and where immediate investigation is necessary, with recommendations for corrective action to stop incidents from occurring.
- Communicate and coordinate with all departments to ensure smooth flow of cargo transfer from warehouse to aircraft for all flights.
- Plan available manpower for the relevant shifts for airside to optimize productivity and efficiency and further minimize the overtime.
- Shift coverage is as per plan or if operational requirements are different at short notice, to make decisions to cover extra demand.

QAS Cargo provides services like Import & Expert Handling, Special Cargo Handling and Cool Chain, for 34 Passenger and Cargo Airlines including Qatar Airways, handling more than 1.8 million tons annually at Hamad International Airport.

About you:

- 4 to 5 years of job-related experience
- High School Qualification or Vocational/ Diploma or Associate Degree or equivalent
- Experience with Dangerous Goods / Live Animals
- Accustomed to fundamentals of Load Control
- Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow
- Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills
- Ability to foster teamwork among team members
