We are seeking a meticulous and experienced
Internal Auditor
with
heavy industry
experience
to join our client in
Qatar
. The successful candidate will play a key role in evaluating and improving our internal controls, risk management processes, and compliance with industry regulations. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the integrity and efficiency of operations in a dynamic, global trade environment.

Duties & responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute risk-based internal audits across financial, operational, and compliance areas.
  • Evaluate the design and effectiveness of internal controls and recommend enhancements.
  • Identify and assess risks related to maritime operations, logistics workflows, and supply chain activities.
  • Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, customs laws, and industry standards.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit reports and present findings to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with business units to develop and implement corrective action plans.
  • Monitor remediation efforts and follow up on outstanding audit issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar discipline from a reputable university.
  • At least 8 years of experience in internal audit preferably with heavy industry experience - oil and gas, ports, logistics, construction, engineering, maritime …etc.
  • Big 4 experience is preferable.
  • Gulf experience
  • Full or partial CIA, CPA, CA are also acceptable.
  • Knowledge and appreciation in all or some of the following software: Arbutus, Teammate, Power Bi, ACL and worked with data analytics in general.
  • Thorough knowledge of audit techniques and methodologies, the IIA standards, COSO, concept of internal controls, risk management, and compliance.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical and report writing skills and familiar with Oracle ERP and data analytics (ACL, Power BI)
