Provide expert legal and business advice across all legal matters, including intellectual property issues, ensuring AZF's rights and assets—particularly its IPRs—are effectively protected, maintained, and enforced.

Develop and implement AZF's Intellectual Property (IP) Management Process to ensure effective protection and oversight of all IP assets.


• Create and maintain a comprehensive IP docket, with a focus on tracking invention disclosures and provisional patent applications in collaboration with Legal, Science, and Technology teams.


• Prepare and coordinate summary presentations and documentation related to IP for management reviews and external collaborator engagements.


• Manage and advise on corporate legal matters including intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, compliance, and contractual agreements.


• Apply best practices in managing external legal counsel to ensure cost-effective and high-quality legal services.


• Provide independent legal advice on local, regional, and international laws, regulations, and contractual matters, particularly those related to IP.


• Deliver high-level legal counsel and draft/review documentation for complex business transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.


• Support the implementation and monitoring of compliance with AZF and its subsidiaries' policies and procedures, including internal investigations.


• Organize and maintain permanent records of all regulatory filings in both paper and electronic formats.


• Identify and assess legal risks that may impact AZF's assets, operations, or strategic objectives.


• Prepare reports and presentations outlining legal findings, risk assessments, and recommended actions.


• Draft legal and commercial documents for complex matters, including contracts, joint bidding agreements, JV/consortium agreements, legal notifications, and early termination documents.


• Provide legal advice on the protection of AZF's intellectual property—including trademarks, trade names, logos, and systems—to ensure rights are fully safeguarded against infringement.


• Collaborate with senior management and Finance to develop and manage the legal department's budget.


• Attend meetings, investigation committees, and other forums as directed by the supervisor.


• Undertake special assignments, project work, and other duties as delegated by the direct supervisor.

Experience


• 5 – 7 years of related experience of which a minimum of 2 years should be in a similar position / responsibility, preferably in a similar Industry

Education and Certification


• Bachelor's degree with (Master's degree preferred) in Law (LLM/LLB)


• Certification to practice law profession

Language


• Required – English & Arabic (Proficient)
