Job Summary

The Safety Officer will be responsible for monitoring and implementing workplace health and safety procedures across the steel factory. The role ensures compliance with safety standards, conducts inspections, and reduces risks by promoting a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce factory safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks, safety inductions, and safety awareness sessions.
  • Perform regular inspections of work areas, machinery, and equipment.
  • Identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and incident logs.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response activities.
  • Coordinate with supervisors and workers to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Report unsafe acts or conditions immediately and recommend corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Diploma or relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in steel plants, heavy industry, or manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of ISO, HSE, and risk assessment procedures.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with workers and management.
  • Ability to work in shift and high-temperature industrial environments.
  • Valid certificates (NEBOSH, IOSH) are an advantage.
