Creative Director

Location: Heenat Salma Farm – Qatar

Organization: Caravane Earth

Role Context

This is not a campaign-led, trend-driven, or social-media-first role.

The Creative Director at Heenat Salma is the long-term steward of visual, spatial, and narrative coherence across a living ecosystem that includes land, architecture, culture, craft, education, hospitality, and community.

The role requires restraint, depth, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to protect integrity over visibility.

Role Purpose

  • To define, guide, and safeguard the creative vision of Heenat Salma and Caravane Earth across physical spaces, communications, experiences, and materials.
  • To ensure all creative output is coherent, intentional, culturally grounded, and aligned with regenerative values.
  • To lead creative decision-making with clarity, authority, and long-term perspective.

Key Responsibilities

Creative Leadership & Direction

  • Own and articulate the overarching creative vision across all touchpoints.
  • Provide clear creative direction to internal teams and external collaborators.
  • Exercise editorial judgment, including the ability to decline work that does not align with the brand's ethos.

Brand & Visual Governance

  • Maintain long-term brand integrity across digital, print, physical, and experiential outputs.
  • Ensure consistency in tone, visual language, materials, and storytelling.
  • Establish and enforce creative standards and guidelines.

Physical & Experiential Design

  • Oversee creative direction for:
  • Physical spaces and environments
  • Exhibitions, events, and cultural programs
  • Printed materials, signage, and objects
  • Ensure all physical expressions reflect craft, sustainability, and cultural context.

Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Work closely with designers, artists, architects, educators, and production partners.
  • Mentor creative team members with clarity and generosity.
  • Act as a bridge between creative vision and operational reality.

Required Background & Experience

  • 10+ years of senior creative experience.
  • Proven background in one or more of the following:
  • Cultural institutions, museums, or galleries
  • Design studios with strong conceptual practice
  • Architecture, placemaking, or experiential design
  • Art, culture, or education-focused organizations
  • Demonstrated experience delivering long-term, cohesive creative systems rather than short-term campaigns.
  • Strong portfolio showing depth, continuity, and material sensitivity.

Portfolio Requirement

  • Portfolio submission is mandatory.
  • Portfolio should demonstrate:
  • Physical spaces, exhibitions, or environments
  • Long-term brand or cultural projects
  • Evidence of restraint, coherence, and authorship over time

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and long time horizons
  • Able to lead without ego and design without excess
  • Deep respect for place, people, and process
