Role Description

This is a full-time on-site position located in Doha, Qatar, for a Jr. Sous Chef Pastry - Cake Artist. The Jr. Sous Chef Pastry will be responsible for assisting in overseeing the pastry production process, with a specialization in cake artistry. The role includes designing and creating cakes, managing kitchen operations, ensuring quality standards, supporting the culinary team, and upholding food safety and sanitation practices. The candidate will also assist in mentoring and training junior team members while maintaining high levels of creativity and innovation in pastry art and design.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Pastry and Cake Design, including advanced cake decorating, dessert preparation, and artistic presentation
  • Strong culinary skills with experience in baking, ingredient selection, and recipe development
  • Ability to maintain food safety and hygiene standards and knowledge of proper storage techniques
  • Team player with leadership skills to mentor and guide junior staff
  • Creativity, attention to detail, and ability to stay updated on current baking and pastry trends
  • Effective time management and organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Previous experience in a luxury hotel or high-end establishment is an advantage
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a diverse team
  • Flexibility to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, including weekends and holidays
