System Analyst

Job Purpose

Design, implement and maintain information system solutions to help the organization operate more efficiently and effectively. Develop solutions to add new functionality to existing computer systems and oversee the installation and configuration of different systems.

Key Accountabilities

Systems and Server Management

• Maintain Infrastructure system, security, and perform application backups.
• Administer and manage virtual servers using VMWare technology and physical servers using Dell Open Manage and HP Insight Management tools.
• Automate support and maintenance for desktop devices using Terminal Services and/or any remote services and deployment tool.
• Install, commission and administer Dell/HP rackmount/blade servers.
• Perform server deployments, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery.
• Monitor the tape backup and data recovery systems using Veritas NetBackup or equivalent.
• Administer and manage Microsoft Exchange e-mail servers and mailboxes.
• Administer and manage Q-Chem's Azure environment and Microsoft 365 systems such as Azure AD, Defender, Teams, and related systems.
• Administer and maintain DHCP and DNS servers.
• Administer and manage SAN (Storage Area Network) storage systems.
• Deploy and monitor UPS systems.

Computer Networks and Security

• Oversee network installation & troubleshooting (LANs, switches, and routers), deploy wireless access points and administer Cisco wireless LAN controllers.
• Manage and Monitor networks using tools like Net Brain, Cisco Works, Solarwinds, OP Manager or equivalent.
• Administer, monitor, and maintain Intrusion Prevention Systems, monitor reports for security violations.
• Manage, monitor and maintain bandwidth management systems like Riverbed or similar.
• Administer and maintain file system security, Active Directory, Group policy and RSA Secure ID management system.
• Conduct operations, monitor and maintain Network Admission Control system (NAC) like Forescout, Juniper or similar.
• Monitor and manage Web and email filters (Websense, IronPort or equivalent), remote computing services via OWA and VPN.

IT Operations and Technical Support

• Provide Level 2 technical support to the systems technicians for the desktop computing environment of over 1200 PCs/laptops and over 150 printers.
• Schedule system outages for routine maintenance.
• Handle Helpdesk tickets and follow up based on Level 1 escalations to ensure that tickets are closed/resolved within the SLA period.
• Develop relevant operating procedures, document, update related forms, in support of IT operations and other organization tools to manage projects and monitor timelines.

Policies, Systems, Processes and Procedures

• Comply with all the policies, processes, standard operating procedures, rules and regulations relating to computer systems and peripheral equipment, so the work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Quality, Health, Security, Safety and Environment

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and relevant quality, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and controls across the Department to guarantee employee safety and delivery of high-quality products/services.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

Required
: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any related discipline.

Preferred
: Master's degree in Information Technology.

Experience

Required
: 5-7 years of experience in the same field.

Preferred
:Experience in the Oil & Gas Petrochemicals Industry.

• Microsoft Office Applications
• Any VMWare, Veritas, HP/Dell, related certification(s)
• Certifications like MCSE, MCITP, MCM, MCSM; A+; HP Service Technician or equivalent.
• Azure Administrator or equivalent Cloud environment certification
• Cloud Platform – Primarily Azure and Google, configuring and administrating workloads, knowledge of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS offering of these Cloud providers.
• Microsoft 365 Administrator
• Systems and Platforms – Hands-on knowledge of the Azure Active Directory, Microsoft365, Azure Security Center, Antimalware & EDR solution, Patch Management, CASB, Ticketing System, Cloud-based Backup Solution, and others similar systems.
• Any of the following – CCNA, CCNP, CCIE
