Reports To: Operations Manager / General Manager

Location: Qatar

Position Objective:

The QA/QC Manager oversees the entire Quality Assurance and Quality Control function, with full responsibility for all activities carried out in the fabrication shop—both pre- and post-production. This includes ensuring that every stage of fabrication (Piping, Pressure Vessels, Tanks, Structural, Offshore skid) & maintenance strictly adheres to client specifications, industry standards, and internal quality policies. The role is pivotal in fostering a culture of quality, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining regulatory compliance, while effectively leading a team of QA/QC engineers and inspectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC policies, procedures, and inspection plans for all projects.
  • Lead and supervise QA/QC engineers and inspectors across fabrication, tank construction, blasting & painting, and machining activities.
  • Review project specifications, engineering drawings, welding procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with international codes and client requirements.
  • Conduct internal audits, inspections, and quality assessments to identify non-conformances and corrective actions.
  • Approve welding procedures, inspection plans, material certifications, and quality documentation.
  • Coordinate with clients, third-party inspectors, and regulatory bodies for inspections and approvals.
  • Maintain comprehensive quality records, reports, and documentation for all projects.
  • Provide training and mentoring to staff on quality standards, procedures, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Monitor performance metrics, implement corrective and preventive actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, ISO, NACE, and other applicable industry standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical Engineering, or equivalent; ISO,ASME,AW,BGAS NACE, or similar certifications preferred.
  • Minimum 15-20 years of QA/QC experience in steel fabrication, construction, or oil & gas projects, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication, painting, and machining inspection techniques.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, management, and project teams.
  • Proven ability to implement and maintain quality management systems and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Project experience with QE, ARAMCO, ADNOC or KOC is mandatory
