Process Engineering Specialist  Location: QatarReporting To: Lead of Process EngineeringAbout the Role We are seeking a Process Engineering Specialist to provide subject matter expertise (SME) in process engineering for operations and other departments. The role addresses technically complex and long-term process issues, supports asset optimisation, and contributes to the development of process engineering capability within the organisation.Key Responsibilities Provide routine process engineering support including troubleshooting, surveillance reporting, and support during planned shutdowns. Address complex operational issues and identify process optimisation opportunities. Guide and evaluate results from process performance tests and project handover activities. Review and contribute to process engineering studies, including MOCs (Management of Change) and third-party studies. Participate in FRAs, RCFAs, HAZOPs, and other assessments for process safety and reliability. Lead or contribute to multi-disciplinary and cross-functional initiatives, providing process engineering expertise. Conduct technical bid evaluations for specialty chemicals and catalysts. Provide preliminary analysis and design input for process engineering project queries. Communicate regularly with the Process Engineering Lead, providing updates, technical guidance, and highlighting key issues. Mentor other process engineers and national graduates to develop their technical skills. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science. Minimum 8 years’ experience in oil and gas process engineering. Competence maintained in accordance with technical competence frameworks. Proficient in engineering software tools and specifications. Excellent written and spoken English. Technical & Behavioural Skills Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.Capability to mentor and develop junior engineers and national staff.
