Job Title: Control Systems Engineering SpecialistLocation: Qatar, OnshoreContract Type: Fixed-term / Project-basedWork Schedule: Standard office hours, typically 8-10 hours per day, 5 days per weekStart Date: ASAPOverviewAn international energy operator is seeking a Control Systems Engineering Specialist to perform control system engineering activities across multiple projects. The role involves supporting engineering teams, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements, and providing technical expertise throughout all project phases. This is a technically challenging position requiring strong engineering knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders.Generic Accountabilities Safety, Health & Environment: Ensure all activities comply with company safety, health, environmental, and quality policies.Qatarization Program: Support the development of local employees where applicable.Firewall Compliance: Ensure compliance with anti-trust and competition laws and company firewall policies. Key Responsibilities Conduct control system engineering activities in accordance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.Resolve engineering issues, escalating to management as required.Develop and update departmental policies and procedures in consultation with project and engineering leadership.Support external engineering teams and contractors to ensure designs meet project objectives and standards.Evaluate complex tasks and provide recommendations to management.Apply project philosophies and procedures to control system design, specification, and procurement.Ensure compliance with company project management systems and processes.Monitor and guide FEED, EPC contractors, and third-party service providers throughout all project phases to ensure work meets scope, schedule, and quality standards.Provide technical support to other engineers for complex assignments and analyses. Qualifications and Experience Degree in Engineering or Science with a major in engineering.Minimum 10 years' experience in control systems engineering within the oil and gas industry, including at least 4 years in a project management team role.Strong knowledge of national and international engineering standards and specifications.Proficient in engineering software tools and systems relevant to control systems.Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.Demonstrated technical competence and ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams. Additional Information This position is based in Qatar. Candidates must be eligible to work in the country.Visa sponsorship may be available for suitably qualified international applicants.
