1.12 Operations Support Technician
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Works under the supervision of Operation staff of QSGTL, typically in 12-hour
shifts.
• Performs hose management, including:
 Connection and disconnection from utility stations to process lines (e.g., steam,
water, nitrogen, air).
 Fitting hoses to purge/flush lines, de-choking, spading/despading of utility stations,
and opening end blinds of test points during startup/shutdown (SU/SD).
• Assists Operators with opening/closing end flanges for valves, based on
competency level.
• Assists Field Operators in:
 All types of valve operations.
 Steaming pipes and fin-fan coolers.
 Clearing blocked drain valves in process service lines.
• Reinstates insulation jackets as required.
• Mobilizes operations tools, including:
 Fire extinguishers.
 Spill kits.
 Hoses and hose fittings.
 Steam lances.
 Drip trays.
 BA sets, Rig Rats, etc.
• Tops up lubrication oil in:
 Sight glass cups of pumps.
 Lube oil reservoirs of rotating equipment.
 Barrier fluid holding tanks when required.
• Cleans process/utility filters/strainers (6” or smaller) with appropriate ICC from
Operations.
• Prepares and tops up chemical/solvent tanks as per approved job aids/procedures.
• Cleans surfaces, including:
 STG/ASU ACC surfaces using high-pressure cleaning pumps as per job
aids/procedures.

 Fin fan surfaces as per job aids/procedures.
• Connects hoses for Wilden pumps.
• Supports pigging operations, including:
 Pig retrieval.
 Periodic housekeeping in the pig receiver area.
• Removes and cleans sulphur in the SRU area (housekeeping).
• Operates Haskel pumps to top up GTG nitrogen bottle banks as per approved job
aids/procedures.
• Handles IBCs and drums, including loading/unloading activities.
• Performs iso-container loading/unloading activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Basic competence of Mechanical Technicians with Flange Technician (FT-1)
certification as a minimum requirement.
• May be required to act as a Permit Holder based on assigned tasks.
Competency Requirements:
• Familiar with COMPANY Operations Support document and multiskilling matrix
defined in JCP.
• Proficient in performing tasks related to hose management, valve operations,
cleaning, and chemical preparation.
• Capable of mobilizing and handling operational tools and equipment.
• Able to follow approved job aids and procedures for various operational tasks.
1.13 Condition Monitoring Technician
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Performs field vibration monitoring of all rotating equipment in the COMPANY.
• Reports to the Engineering Section of the COMPANY.
• Records and collects daily vibration readings of rotating equipment using:
Handheld instruments (Portable Data Collectors).
Permanent instruments mounted on equipment.
• Uploads and downloads data from/to servers and Portable Data Collectors.
• Manages the schedule of routine vibration monitoring tasks for all rotating equipment and
ensures timely execution.
• Conducts condition monitoring surveys on rotating equipment using predictive maintenance
systems such as "System1."
• Assists in field balancing of rotors to maintain optimal equipment operation.
• Assists in lube oil analysis and reporting.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of Condition Monitoring in the Oil and Gas Industry.
• Diploma/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical qualifications in Mechanical Engineering.
Competency Requirements:
• Knowledge of the basics of Condition Monitoring and Vibration Analysis, including various types
of vibration measurements and probes used.
• Hands-on experience with vibration analysis instruments such as Snapshot, CSI, and Microlog.

• Familiarity with condition monitoring software such as System1, SKF Machine Analyst, and
AMS software.
• Basic-level experience in vibration analysis (Vibration Analyst Cat-II preferred).
• Proficient in using MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

1.14 Lifting Supervisor
a)
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Coordinates, plans, prepares, and supervises all lifting and rigging activities (including
complex lifting) under the Purchase Contract.
• Prepares lifting permits and risk assessments for all lifting operations.
• Ensures all lifting and rigging activities are carried out in strict compliance with
COMPANY’s Lifting & Rigging standards and legislative requirements.
• Ensures all lifting and rigging tools and equipment are in good working condition, with
adequate and timely inspection and maintenance. Maintains inspection records.
• Prepares and submits all documentation (lifting & rigging plans, method statements,
calculations, etc.) to COMPANY’s lifting department in a timely and accurate manner.
• Monitors the quality of pre-lift meetings and recommends improvements when required.
• Works closely with COMPANY’s Lifting Assurance Team and any third-party crane
supplier appointed by COMPANY.
• Supervises plant maintenance activities, including:
 Bundle pulling.
 Large rotating equipment overhaul.
 Removal and installation of valves.
• Assesses riggers and crane operators under his jurisdiction for competency in lifting
and rigging tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum secondary education with appropriate lifting accreditation provided by
COMPANY’s Lifting Assurance Team.
• Trained and qualified as a competent Lifting Supervisor by an accreditation body (e.g.,
TUV, BV) accepted by the COMPANY.
• Minimum of 7+ years of rigging experience in the Oil and Gas industry, with at least 3
years of supervisory experience in Run and Maintenance.
Competency Requirements:
• Strong administrative and supervisory skills to schedule, monitor, and oversee all lifting
categories operations (Person in Charge).
• Good English communication skills, both oral and written (IELTS 5 equivalent). Must be
a good team player and work closely with the Heavy Lifting Contractor team.
• Thorough knowledge of Industry Best Code of Practices, Qatar Energy, and COMPANY
Lifting and Rigging standards.
• Expert knowledge in:
 Lifting using Mobile Cranes, Overhead Cranes, Gantry Cranes (both Fixed and
Trolley), Chain Blocks, Tirfor, Jacking and Skating, Fork Trucks, Man-lifts, and Boom
Trucks.
 Lifting equipment selection, inspection, and rigging calculations.
 Testing requirements for lifting equipment and cranes, including vendor lifting lugs.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality lifting plans, elevation drawings, and lifting
tackle drawings to scale.
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.

1.15 Rigger(Addition of Senior Rigger / Foreman without overall threshold /count
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Inspects, selects, and uses rigging gear for lifting operations.
• Sets up and operates cranes in compliance with operational requirements.
• Examines loads and estimates their size and weight to ensure safe lifting operations.
• Communicates effectively using hand signals, radios, and other communication methods.
• Works closely with the Heavy Lifting Contractor team to ensure smooth and safe operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum secondary education with rigger qualifications from an accreditation body recognized
by the COMPANY.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas/Petrochemical industry as a rigger,
including rigging gear inspection, selection, and use, as well as crane setup and operation.
Competency Requirements:
• Proficient in English – able to read and speak effectively.
• Good understanding of HSE compliance procedures, HSSE requirements, and regulatory
requirements for lifting equipment.
• Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions in the rigger trade.
• Must be a good team player and work collaboratively with the Heavy Lifting Contractor team.

1.16 Welder
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Performs welding tasks using various techniques such as GMAW, GTAW, and SMAW
in all positions (flat, vertical, or overhead) on plates and pipes according to ASME IX
standards (1G, 2G, 3G, and 6G).
• Produces X-RAY quality welds.
• Interprets the content and validity of approved welding procedure specifications.
• Uses oxy-acetylene and plasma cutting techniques.
• Selects appropriate welding wires and filler materials for various steel alloys.
• Demonstrates experience in welding unalloyed, low alloyed, and high alloyed steels.
• Welds boiler tubes, performs mirror welding techniques, and executes dissimilar metal
welds.
• Welds plate material in column or vessel walls and special metals such as Inconel 600,
700, 800 & 900 series, CuNi, and Aluminium.
• Performs grinding works required for the job using manual and power tools.
• Reads and interprets mechanical isometric drawings, including weld requirement
symbols.
• Applies QA/QC and HSE compliance procedures and working instructions.
• Demonstrates extensive knowledge of heat treatment and stress-relieving methods.
• Judges whether proper weld preparation has been made.
• Deputizes for supervision and acts as a leader to less experienced welders.
Minimum Qualifications:

• Certified Welder for the welding processes and materials to weld on.
 May be required to undertake a Competency-Based Test witnessed by the
COMPANY-designated person.
• More than 6 years of experience in welding works in running Petrochemical or
Power Generating industries.
Competency Requirements:
• Proficient in English – able to read, write, and speak effectively.
• Familiar with the use of oxy-acetylene and plasma cutting techniques.
• Knowledgeable in the selection of welding wires and filler materials for various steel
alloys.
• Demonstrates experience in welding unalloyed, low alloyed, and high alloyed steels, as
well as boiler tubes and dissimilar metal welds.
• Extensive knowledge of heat treatment and stress-relieving methods.
• Capable of interpreting mechanical isometric drawings and weld requirement symbols.
• Competent Fire Watcher certification required.
• Multiskilled as per the table of competencies in Appendix 13. COMPANY
