Learning Support Assistant Reporting to: Head of Inclusion and Student Wellbeing The Middle and High School Learning Support Assistant enhances the educational experience of students by providing targeted support in Math, Science, and English.

  • Qualifications and experience.

The school prefers people with:

  • A Bachelor's degree in education or an equivalent field.
  • Appropriate qualifications relevant to the students being supported.
  • Experience in providing individual, small group, and in-class learning support.
  • Experience with special education needs (SEN), and experience with behavior management techniques.
  • Knowledge and Skills

He/She should:

  • Be aligned with the ISL values of diversity, passion, identity, and understanding.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and be willing to adapt to the demands of an international school. In particular, they should be able to communicate effectively in English.
  • Have a high level of understanding of how children learn and possess the ability to motivate students to perform at their best.
  • Be able to inspire students through personalized learning and by using a variety of styles, creating challenging and engaging learning opportunities.
  • Responsibilities.
  • Implement Learning Support Guidelines.
  • Liaise with the Head of Inclusion and Student Wellbeing to support the effective delivery of the curriculum to the students.
  • Promote the health and safety of students.
  • Participate in professional learning and contribute to regular staff training and meetings.
  • Assess and report student progress to relevant team members.
  • Collaborated with other professionals effectively.
  • Specific Responsibilities.
  • Act as learning and social support for students.
  • Support the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP), to ensure they maximize their learning opportunities.
  • Liaise with teachers to enable students to participate and progress in lessons.
  • Support students in developing social connections with peers and staff.
