About the Role


As a Lead Crew Pairings Analyst, you will be responsible for analysis, forecasting, planning and production of legal and cost-effective optimized pairings for all Crew members, achieved by expert knowledge and use of specialized optimization systems.

Must ensure that pairings are constructed legally and efficiently and within targets set by Crew Planning whilst balancing Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) such as cost, productivity, fatigue risk and operational robustness.

All this needs to be achieved whilst ensuring the pairings are both legal and optimal before they are delivered (on time) to other stakeholders.


Other key responsibilities are:

  • Document all procedures and ensure department policy and procedure manuals and checklists are accurate and complete.
  • Ensure all staff are having the necessary training requirements and ensure plans for recurrent training sessions.
  • Seek feedback and analyse information to find ways to improve the quality and overall costs of the crew pairings.
  • Trial and implement new tools and techniques incorporated by the system providers and / or as required by management.
  • Compiles with QCAA regulations. Compliance with company policies and procedures, and instructions from department management.
  • Identify improvements to business processes and correct identified problem areas.
  • Ensure pairing tasks in the pairings production cycle are followed and allocate tasks within the team to ensure optimization process and delivery of crew pairings are within agreed timeframes.
  • Monitor pairing production progress and attend to matters requiring attention.
  • Ensure pairing systems are configured to achieve KPI's.
  • Balance budgeted cost constraints with quality of life issues.
  • Ensure timely receipt of all required pairings information (including information from within the Crew Resources team) and follow up when late.
  • Prepare and conduct monthly Post Publication Report (PPR) to the management and other concerned stakeholders.
  • Analyse short and long term "what if" scenarios to assess impact of future business changes and determine future crew resource requirements.
  • Optimise and provide statistics for schedules for long term planning and budgeting purpose.
  • Analyse information and statistics to provide advice on pairings impact and recommendations to improve pairings quality.
  • Provide regular feedback to all stakeholders on additional cost impact for schedule changes.
  • Key user of Crew Pairings Systems (e.g. Jeppesen) and Crew Tracking Systems (e.g. TOPS, AIMS)
  • Control rules and parameters within CCP and other relevant systems.
  • Conduct acceptance testing of new systems and new releases / versions of existing systems.

Qualifications:

About You

  • Relevant College or University qualification to a minimum of Bachelor's level
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience.
  • Relevant work experience in Crew Resources related role in planning role.
  • Experience coaching individuals and small teams are desirable.
  • Proven ability to maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Crew resource management and optimisation systems.
  • Demonstrate abstract reasoning and critical thinking skills.
  • Understanding of Crew resource planning processes, theories and methodologies.
  • Detailed knowledge of regulatory requirements (Flight Time Limitations)
