Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the company's goals and objectives.
  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the construction business, including project management, operations, finance, and business development.
  • Provide strong leadership and guidance to the management team and ensure effective communication and collaboration across all departments.
  • Drive business growth and development by identifying new opportunities, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, and expanding the company's presence in the Middle East/Africa construction market.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, health and safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Optimise operational processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor financial performance, prepare budgets, and make strategic decisions to maximise profitability and sustainability.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the organisation.
  • Represent the company in negotiations, meetings, and industry events to promote the company's interests and enhance its reputation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive leadership role in the construction industry, with a minimum of 20 years of relevant experience.
  • Previous experience working in main contracting, MEP contracting, Fit-out, joinery or stone sectors.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Middle East construction market, including industry trends, regulations, and key players.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and a demonstrated ability to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Solid understanding of project management, financial management, and operational best practices within the construction sector.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree or MBA would be an advantage.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex construction projects on time and within budget.
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is required, with a strong preference for candidates with prior experience working in the country. Randstad CPE values diversity and promotes equality.
