Airswift is seeking for Senior Construction Supervisor (Telecom) to work in Qatar with a major Oil & Gas Company.

QUALIFICATION

  1. Candidate must possess a Degree or Diploma in Electronics and Communication (or) IT Engineering from an internationally recognized University.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Control and supervise the site construction / installation of multiple projects of his discipline. Control and endorse necessary work permits.
  2. Review construction method statements, commissioning procedures, and endorse red marked as-built drawings and construction dossiers.
  3. Inspect construction works and materials in accordance with project plans and Inspection Test Plans.
  4. Ensure construction compliance with statutory safety and environmental regulations.
  5. Monitor the pace of progress with relation to the project plan and update/forecast any slippage in the schedule and provide solutions to the sub-contractor's problems and help in preparing recovery schedules.
  6. Supervise and manage installation of Access Control System, CCTV System, LAN/WAN System works.
  7. Supervise and manage installation of PAGA System, PABX System works.
  8. Supervise and manage installation of VHF/UHF/TETRA Systems, Microwave Radio Systems works.
  9. Supervise and manage installation of Intercom Systems, Hotline Network Systems works.
  10. Supervise and manage installation of Voice Recorder Systems works.
  11. Supervise and manage installation of Cable trays, conduits, cable laying, cables termination of his discipline.
  12. Supervise and manage installation of fiber optics splicing & testing.
  13. Supervise and manage installation of lifting / fixing Antennas, Antenna Alignment, LOS.
  14. Supervise and manage installation of Racks installations (Radio/ OTN / CCTV / PAGA).
  15. Participate in the pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
  16. Supervise the EPIC Contractors during the execution of construction activities at construction site.
  17. Co-ordinate mobilization of contractors on site.
  18. Supervise and approve construction activities and co-ordinate various aspects of project construction including inspections, material submissions, and working drawings from contractors, and processing documentation as required.
  19. Carryout daily checks on contractor's staff and work carried out during the previous day in order to ensure compliance with prescribed contractual specifications.
  20. Cable termination and Loop checking.
  21. Witness SAT pre-commissioning activities for equipment.
  22. Maintain a daily record of progress (daily diary) noting special comments. Reports to supervisor work anomalies or contractual deviations committed by contractor personnel and recommend corrective actions.
  23. Sign work permits on behalf of QP and to ensure that contractor's compliance with work permits.
  24. Prepare Punch list for finished work prior to hand over to QP by contractor by paying special attention to all equipment including Quality checks.
  25. Works closely with other QP Construction Supervisors (Mech / Arch/E&I).
  26. Report to QP Senior Construction Supervisor on main issues, events at site, progress reporting, trends and recommendation for improvement.
  27. Accountable for supervising contractor's work that is in progress, inspecting work, reporting problems and preventing accidents occurring as a result of negligence, by enforcing QP safety standards on the work site.
  28. Liaise and report with the QC Inspector on quality related matters.
  29. Liaise with the HSE Supervisor on safety related matters.

EXPERIENCE:

  1. Candidate should have a minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in construction & installation of Electronics, Communication, Telecom, IT infrastructure for offshore oil and gas projects.
  2. Candidate must have the following proven experience:
    1. RADIO SYSTEMS: MICROWAVE LINKS, TETRA, VHF, UHF, VSAT, MARINE RADIO.
    2. SECURITY SYSTEMS: CCTV, PAGA, PAVA, ACCESS CONTROL.
    3. Fiber Optics: Optical Transmission SDH, PDH, OTN.
    4. IP NETWORKING: Switches, Routers, LAN / WAN, Structure Cabling, MDF/IDF.
    5. TEL systems: PABX, Hotline, Field Telephones, IP Telephones.
    6. Audio / Video Systems.
    7. DC Power System, Rectifiers, UPS, Solar panels, Batteries.
  3. Must have good verbal and written communication skills to interface and communicate with internal and external departments, agencies, contractors and vendors.
  4. Candidate shall hold a solid knowledge and experience of all related telecom construction and commissioning activities.
  5. Candidate shall proof his employment in a well-recognized IT/Telecom company in a similar position.
