Role OverviewWqtah is expanding its presence in Qatar's digital entertainment and tourism sector. We seek a Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive revenue growth, develop partnerships, and enhance product adoption. This role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with the Product, Sales, and Marketing teams.
As the BDM, you will identify and secure new business opportunities, optimize current revenue streams, and ensure alignment between our business strategy and product roadmap. The compensation package includes a fixed salary plus commission-based incentives, ensuring high performers are rewarded for revenue growth and strategic deal-making.
Key Responsibilities- Growth Strategy & Market Expansion
- Develop and execute a business development strategy focused on revenue growth across ticketing, booking, and vendor partnerships.
- Identify new market opportunities within Qatar and support expansion into multiple MENA countries (as per future business plans).
- Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking to position Wqtah effectively.
- Partnership & Vendor Acquisition
- Establish and maintain partnerships with event organizers, venues, entertainment service providers, and F&B establishments.
- Work closely with the Ticketing Squad to onboard large-scale event organizers and secure exclusive deals for major events.
- Collaborate with sales to expand vendor listings (hotels, sports courts, entertainment providers) and increase platform offerings.
- Sales & Revenue Growth
- Drive adoption of Wqtah's ticketing and booking solutions among local businesses, leveraging data-driven insights.
- Work with the Product & Tech teams to monetize premium features such as promoted listings, premium vendor accounts, and API integrations.
- Develop B2B sales strategies to engage corporate clients for bulk bookings and event ticket purchases.
- Achieve monthly and quarterly revenue targets, with performance-based commissions.
- Customer & User Growth
- Collaborate with Marketing & UX teams to enhance user acquisition strategies, particularly for ticketing and booking customers.
- Identify new user segments and develop targeted outreach campaigns (e.g., sports fans, tourists, event-goers, corporate clients).
- Leverage partnerships to offer exclusive deals, loyalty programs, or bundled offerings.
- Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with Product Managers to align business goals with product development, ensuring that customer needs are met.
- Partner with the Support & Automation Team to optimize the onboarding experience for new vendors.
- Collaborate with Finance to structure revenue-sharing models, pricing strategies, and commission structures.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Define and monitor KPIs such as:
- Vendor acquisition & retention rates
- Ticketing revenue growth
- Booking conversion rates
- Average order value & repeat customers
- Prepare reports and recommendations for the leadership team, providing insights into market trends and business performance.
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or strategic partnerships within tech, e-commerce, travel, or event ticketing industries.
- Proven track record of driving B2B and B2C growth through partnerships and strategic initiatives.
- Experience in negotiating high-value contracts with vendors, event organizers, or hospitality businesses.
- Strong understanding of digital platforms, booking systems, and ticketing solutions.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with product, marketing, and technical teams.
- Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics to drive decision-making.
- Existing network within the Qatari entertainment, tourism, or sports industry.
- Familiarity with event ticketing platforms (e.g., Seats.io, Ticketmaster, or local alternatives).
- Understanding of subscription models and loyalty programs for consumer engagement.
- Experience with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) to manage partnerships.
- Fixed Salary + Commission-Based Incentives
- Commission structure based on:
- Revenue from vendor partnerships and ticketing deals
- New business acquisition and client retention metrics
