About the role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Facilities Management to lead, innovate and oversee all aspects of facilities management within our airport. To provide strategic leadership, develop the continuous improvement, Passenger Terminal, Infrastructure and Midfield team's direction and priorities, collaborate with the SVP FM on shaping the airport services operating models, plan strategies and provide direction and management to ensure seamless service delivery with a focus on maintaining high customer service level.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Champion the successful strategic planning and implementation of the Airport key projects for the assigned areas to fulfill both short-term and long-term Matar vision and corporate strategy.
  2. Promote and drive a culture of health, safety, security through regular and effective communication forums, to ensure the delivery of safe, transparent, sustainable and compliant facilities management services.
  3. Champion the focus on results and continuous improvement culture through periodic review of operations model, scope, applicability and commercial decisions to impact positively the bottom line results and to drive unnecessary costs out of the business.
  4. Oversee and maintain a strong, transparent, consistent and effective control environment within the delivery management team to ensure seamless service delivery and healthy relationships with Matar's suppliers.
  5. Lead an effective dialogue and stakeholder relationships with the team, division employees, and other stakeholders to establish a customer-centric culture and provide a world-class service to internal and external customers.
  6. Direct and continue to improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of all HIA Asset Management System activities through regular communications and engagement with Matar FM staff and FM Contractors, internal audits, management reviews, monitoring performance against KPIs to improve the assets performance and effectively manage the risks.
  7. Oversee the preparation of the department detailed budget; manage expenditure against this, and present fiscally and financially responsible budget reports by conducting regular budget reviews identifying variance against forecast and implementing containment actions to meet the business objectives.
  8. Ensure the consistent and effective implementation of asset care, through specific work streams to support Matar's reputation as a world-class leading airport.
  9. Direct and manage activities related to the establishment and the implementation of business continuity plans and related training processes to ensure uninterrupted and optimized airport operations.
  10. Lead and manage the activities related to the operational handover and takeover of the Airport Expansion facilities and systems through timely and effective engagement with Major Project Department and the Maintenance Integration team to ensure new assets are maintained from day one.
  11. Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Desired Candidate Profile:

  1. Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with minimum 10+ years of job-related experience.
  2. Extensive experience in airport planning and operations processes including maintenance, airport properties and facility management.
  3. Practical experience in safety management and regulations governing airports buildings, facilities and infrastructure.
  4. Experience effectively negotiating and managing maintenance contracts.
  5. Experience combining strategy and execution.
  6. Strong financial background including developing and tracking budgets, as well as planning and managing capital programs. Ability to demonstrate theoretical and practical experience of maintenance service delivery in large airport facilities.
  7. Excellent project management skills with an ability to deliver tasks to challenging deadlines.
  8. Application of continuous improvement tools and techniques.
