Qatar Aviation Services – Cargo is recruiting for Project Officer based in Doha, Qatar.

The Project Officer will be responsible to administer projects including overall planning, tracking, budget tracking, and documentation of one or several projects from the project proposal phase to the project closeout within budget and timeline. Act as the focal point between QAS Cargo and other department stakeholders by coordinating, communicating and streamlining project relevant data and information.

Operational accountabilities

  1. Plan, organize and deploy Project Management Plans — organize manpower, equipment, and facilities to achieve delivery of QAS Cargo Projects on time.
  2. Provide in-depth analysis into QAS Cargo Projects and make recommendations to manage the projects for delivery.
  3. Assist assigned business project Line Manager by preparing analytical reports to benchmark levels and propose positive changes or amendments.
  4. Create scorecards, reports, and presentation slides to benchmark project development on ongoing assigned projects, in conjunction with relevant agencies, and deliver all assigned QAS Cargo Projects within budget and timeline.
  5. Monitor the work of project personnel, implement operating policies to ensure timely task completion, and prepare progress reports.

  7. Prepare and produce plans and business cases to justify the project cost and benefit to finance, senior management, and the cost management committee (CMC) in order to get their approval.
  8. Coordinate with relevant agencies and/or parties involved in projects and ensure project's tasks, expenses, and time frames are within agreed parameters.
  9. Report to the Line Manager on the project's status regularly.
  10. On completion of a project, conduct interviews and surveys with project stakeholders and owners to establish the level of customer service and satisfaction with the project delivery and to measure the success of the project.
  11. Coordinate relevant project meetings, working groups, and workshops ensuring action points, follow-ups, and agreed actions are documented, included in weekly project tasks, and communicated to all stakeholders and partners as necessary.
  12. Responsible for providing support for the end-to-end procurement, tendering, and contracting of QAS Cargo requirements from an end-user perspective in order to achieve maximum value for commercial and operational projects.
  13. Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 4 years job relevant experience if you have High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification / Diploma or Equivalent (related to the role) or
  2. Minimum 3 years of job-related experience if you have a Bachelor's Degree
  3. Preferably with Airline/Airport/Airport Ground Handling experience
  4. Proven experience of demonstrating flexibility to meet the changing demands of the business.
  5. Proven experience in health and safety management in the workplace. Experience working in an executive administrative office.
  6. You must have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications — including Microsoft Project.
