Starting Monthly Salary**:QAR 5,000++ OR QAR 6,500** (Full package / All in)
**Junior** Sous Chef: QAR 4,000++ OR QAR 5,200 (Full package / All in)
*++ Free shared accommodation and transportation
**Overview**: As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in the culinary team, assisting the Head Chef in the planning, preparation, and execution of high-quality dishes. Your exceptional culinary skills, leadership abilities, and attention to detail will contribute to the success of our restaurant or kitchen. The Sous Chef is responsible for supervising kitchen staff, maintaining food quality, and ensuring the smooth operations of the kitchen during the Head Chef's absence.
**Responsibilities**:
Culinary Excellence:
- Assist the Head Chef in designing and creating innovative and delectable dishes that align with the restaurant's concept and standards.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating to maintain consistency and quality.
- Ensure that all food items are prepared according to recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Implement and maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in the kitchen.
Kitchen Leadership:
- Direct and supervise kitchen staff, including line cooks, prep cooks, and other kitchen personnel.
- Lead by example and motivate the team to achieve exceptional performance.
- Schedule and organize work shifts to ensure adequate coverage and efficiency in the kitchen.
- Train and mentor new kitchen staff to improve their culinary skills and knowledge.
Inventory and Ordering:
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to create inventory lists and order necessary ingredients and supplies.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, minimizing waste and maximizing cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure proper storage of food items and timely rotation of perishables.
Workflow Management:
- Coordinate with the Head Chef and other team members to plan and organize daily kitchen activities.
- Effectively manage time and resources to meet customer demands during busy service hours.
- Adapt to changing priorities and handle high-pressure situations with composure.
Safety and Sanitation:
- Enforce adherence to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Regularly inspect the kitchen and equipment to identify and rectify potential hazards or maintenance issues.
- Participate in regular staff meetings to discuss kitchen-related matters, improvements, and feedback.
Menu Development and Special Events:
- Collaborate with the Head Chef in creating and updating menus, taking into account seasonal and local ingredients.
- Contribute to the development of special event menus and catering offerings.
**Requirements**:
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or relevant culinary leadership role.
- A strong passion for cooking and a keen understanding of various culinary techniques and cuisines.
- Exceptional knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to lead and inspire a team to achieve exceptional results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: QAR5,000.00 - QAR6,500.00 per month
