**Position Overview**:We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team. As a Junior Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in assisting and overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen. Your creativity, culinary skills, and strong work ethic will contribute to the delivery of exceptional dining experiences for our guests. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated culinary professional to further develop their skills and contribute to the success of our establishment.
**Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and the owner to plan and execute menus that showcase creativity, quality, and variety.
- Assist in the supervision and coordination of kitchen staff, including training, mentoring, and delegating tasks.
- Ensure that all culinary preparations are carried out according to established recipes, presentation standards, and quality guidelines.
- Monitor food production to maintain consistency and freshness, and promptly address any quality or presentation issues.
- Oversee kitchen operations during the absence of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, making sure that all activities run smoothly.
- Contribute to the development of new menu items, taking into consideration seasonal ingredients, culinary trends, and guest preferences.
- Assist in managing kitchen inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing ingredients to minimize waste and control costs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless communication and efficient service flow.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous learning opportunities to enhance culinary skills and stay updated on industry trends.
- Embrace a positive and professional attitude, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Step in to actively cook and prepare dishes as needed, demonstrating culinary expertise and setting an example for the team.
**Qualifications**:
- Culinary degree or equivalent culinary certification is preferred.
- Proven experience in a culinary role, with a strong foundation in various cooking techniques and international cuisines.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
- Creativity and a passion for experimenting with flavors, ingredients, and presentation.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with kitchen staff, front-of-house team, and management.
- Adaptability and a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic culinary environment.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions in high-stress situations.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
