**Job Summary**: As a Food Hygiene Officer, your primary responsibility is to enforce food safety regulations and standards within food establishments to protect public health. You will conduct inspections, audits, and provide guidance to ensure compliance with food safety laws and regulations. Additionally, you will investigate complaints, educate food handlers, and collaborate with other agencies to maintain high standards of food hygiene.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Inspections and Audits**:

- Conduct routine inspections of food establishments, including restaurants, cafes, grocery stores, and food processing facilities.
- Evaluate cleanliness, food handling practices, storage conditions, and overall hygiene standards.
- Identify violations of food safety regulations and recommend corrective actions.
- **Regulatory Compliance**:

- Enforce local, state/provincial, and national food safety regulations and standards.
- Stay updated on changes in food safety laws and ensure compliance within the jurisdiction.
- Issue warnings, citations, or fines for non-compliance and follow up to ensure corrective actions are taken.
- **Education and Training**:

- Provide training sessions and workshops for food handlers on proper food handling techniques, sanitation practices, and hygiene standards.
- Offer guidance and resources to help food establishments implement best practices for food safety.
- Promote awareness of foodborne illnesses and preventive measures among food handlers and the public.
- **Investigations and Complaints**:

- Investigate complaints related to foodborne illnesses, food contamination, or other hygiene concerns.
- Collect samples for laboratory analysis, if necessary, to determine the cause of contamination.
- Take appropriate actions to address complaints and mitigate risks to public health.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain detailed records of inspections, findings, and enforcement actions.
- Prepare reports summarizing inspection results, compliance status, and recommendations for improvement.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, government officials, and stakeholders regarding food safety issues and initiatives.
- **Collaboration and Coordination**:

- Collaborate with other government agencies, such as public health departments and regulatory bodies, to coordinate food safety efforts.
- Participate in multi-agency task forces or committees focused on improving food hygiene practices and policies.
- Foster partnerships with industry associations, community organizations, and educational institutions to promote food safety awareness and compliance.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in food science, public health, environmental health, or a related field.
- Certification or training in food safety management (e.g., HACCP, ServSafe).
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards, such as FDA Food Code or equivalent.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in food inspection, public health, or regulatory compliance is preferred.
- Fieldwork required, including visits to various food establishments.
- Exposure to various food handling environments and potential hazards.
- Flexible schedule may be necessary to accommodate inspections and investigations.

Pay: From QAR4,000.00 per month
