**About the role**

Qatar Distribution Company (QDC), a Qatar Airways subsidiary, is the exclusive importer and distributor of alcohol beverages to Qatar's domestic market. Distribution to the off trade is via QDC's retail outlet, while distribution to the on trade is by direct supply to qualifying four and five star hotels.

The On-Trade Sales Manager will act as a deputy to the On-Trade Manager, managing all allocated On-Trade activities to ensure that QDC volume, revenue and profit opportunities from this part of business are fully exploited. This will be achieved through the development of close customer relationships, improvements in service levels and effective implementation of promotional plans, assisting with the management and development of junior On-Trade team members.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

- Effective portfolio management by working with relevant QDC stakeholders on the development and extension of product lists, launches and promotion of new products, the promotion of products of particular importance to QDC for either strategic or tactical reasons to maximise sales revenues and profits.
- Assist On-Trade Manager with planning and organizing product specific training by liaising with different brand suppliers to enhance product knowledge of QDC staff and hotel employees to improve customer interaction and selling skills.
- Manage vendor activity in allocated key accounts through visits, trade tours, events and product launches to maximise sales revenue.
- Support in maximising revenue and profit growth opportunities offered by new businesses by closely monitoring opening of new hotels, restaurants and clubs, and essentially establish rapport with the clients’ management team in order to develop strong working relationships with these potential accounts which could assist to accurately forecast opening dates and stock requirements.
- Manage and maintain relationship with key accounts including and up to Hotel Executive Management by continuously providing excellent 5-star service in order to maximise sales and gross profit returns and achieve or exceed annual budgets.
- Develop training programs and promotion events through effective and maximum utilisation of QDC and vendor funded promotional budgets by working with On-Trade Manager, Wine Specialist and Marketing team to drive volumes, revenue and profitability.
- Work with allocated key hotel accounts and brand suppliers to ensure successful implementation of all brand promotional plans and events in the market.
- Warrant that all brand POS materials provided are effectively utilized by upholding high merchandising standards in all outlets to maximise revenue derived from vendor funded promotional budgets.
- Manage draught beer installations in allocated key accounts by collaborating with the On-Trade Manager and Draught team to ensure that first class products are delivered in all outlets and new lines are installed in a timely manner.

**Qualifications**:
**About you**
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent with minimum 4 years of job-related experience required; OR
- High School Qualification or Diploma or equivalent with minimum 5 years relevant experience

Preferred skills and experience:

- Minimum 4-5 years relevant experience in the alcohol or hospitality business at management or assistant department head level
- Sales background within alcohol or hospitality industry
- Experience in Middle East or similar environment
- WSET Level 3 or higher
- Specific product knowledge, particularly or in Spirits, Wine or Beers
- Must be commercially aware and able to deal with customers and suppliers at all levels.
- Strong command of English language, verbal and written
- Understanding of the current sales management techniques
- Understanding of board marketing concepts
- Computer literate with good understanding of business negotiation skills
- Keen on details and knowledge of best practices
- Demonstrated ability in using different marketing techniques.
