We are looking for a Commi I who must be available in Qatar.
Job Summary:
Responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of South Indian breakfast dishes as well as managing the tandoor section. This includes making traditional items such as dosa, idli, and vada, along with tandoori dishes and tandoor-baked bread like naan and roti. Proficiency in both South Indian cuisine and tandoor cooking techniques, maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare traditional South Indian breakfast items such as dosa, idli, vada, uttapam, and accompanying chutneys and sambar.
- Ensure all dishes are cooked to perfection and presented attractively.
- Maintain authenticity in flavor and preparation techniques.
- Manage the tandoor oven, including heating, maintenance, and cleaning.
- Prepare and cook tandoori dishes such as tandoori chicken, kebabs, paneer tikka, and various grilled items.
- Make tandoor-baked bread like naan, roti, and kulcha.
- Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and readily available.
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and report any shortages to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
- Assist in receiving and inspecting food deliveries.
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Check the final product to ensure it meets company standards and customer satisfaction.
- Adjust recipes as needed to accommodate dietary restrictions or customer preferences.
- Keep the preparation areas clean and organized.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage practices.
- Clean and maintain equipment and utensils used in cooking.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely service.
- Communicate effectively with the Chef de Partie and other team members regarding any kitchen needs or issues.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving recipes and kitchen processes.
- Assist in other areas of the kitchen as needed, including preparation and cooking for other menu items.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, or Head Chef.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Culinary training or certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in South Indian breakfast preparation and tandoor cooking is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of South Indian breakfast recipes and techniques.
- Proficiency in tandoor cooking and bread-making.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good organizational and multitasking skills.
- Attention to detail and a passion for food quality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- With Valid QID, NOC and Food Handling Certificate.
Pay: QAR2,000.00 - QAR2,500.00 per month
