**About the role**

The Senior Manager Pre-Ops & Crew Control is responsible for strategic planning, leadership and delivery of Qatar Airways crew scheduling functions from the point of roster publication through to the day of operation ensuring that Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) objectives such as On-time Performance, effective disruption recovery and schedule optimisation are achieved without compromising on other Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) such as cost, efficient crew utilisation, FTL & FCL compliance, fatigue risk, roster integrity and crew satisfaction. The role will lead both the Crew Control and Crewing Pre-ops specialist teams ensuring they are correctly staffed with appropriate training programmes, processes and procedures in place. They will develop and sustain a framework of continuous improvement managing changes in processes, procedures, systems and people as required by the developing operational environment. This will include developing and managing suitable KPI’s and data analysis to assist in managing the up-stream crew resources supply chain and ensuring most effective and efficient delivery of crew scheduling post roster publication. The role includes, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:

- Review, develop and improve procedures within and across Crew Control & Crewing Pre-Ops to ensure the teams meet their objectives effectively and efficiently.
- Develop a roadmap for new tools and system enhancements to support the Crew Control & Pre-Ops functions. Plan development and implementation with IT and relevant project teams.
- Develop, enforce and evaluate an effective mechanism for audit risk evasion.
- Develop, review and maintain KPI’s relevant to cost, compliance, operational
- Ensure Crew Control and Pre-Ops adheres to QCAA regulations and any QR business or industry specific legislation or requirements.
- Ensure regular compliance checks are carried out by Manager Pre-Ops & Crew Control and that corrective action is taken to ensure avoidance of audit findings so that the department functions to the highest standard.
- Ensure handover meetings take place with crew schedule planning teams and that relevant information or actions required as a result of the handover are disseminated within the Crew Control & Pre-Ops teams.

Qualifications

**About You**

Qualifications: Essential
- Relevant College or University qualification to min Bachelor's level.

Preferred
- Air Transport Management Qualification.

Previous Experience: Essential
- Minimum 10 years relevant experience.
- Management experience within a Crewing or Crew Resource Management environment.

Preferred
- Developed training and mentoring capabilities and experience.
- Managing a large team of crewing staff within a large airline environment.
- Experience and understanding of crew manpower planning concepts.

Job Specific Skills: Essential
- Highly developed planning, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Understanding of commercial schedules, crew rosters and IOC/OCC functions.
- Experience in airline operations and crew tracking software.
- Grasp of commercial impacts of disruption to airline operations.
- Proven negotiating and influencing skills.
- Excellent command of English language (written and spoken).
- Well-developed interpersonal skills effective in a multi-cultural setting.
- Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow.
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills.
- Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
