About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Intellectual Property to join our team at Robert Walters. As a key member of our Legal Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the protection and enforcement of our company's intellectual property rights.

Key Responsibilities
  • Intellectual Property Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive intellectual property strategy to protect and leverage our company's IP assets.
  • Patent Prosecution: Manage the preparation, filing, and prosecution of patent applications to secure and maintain our IP portfolio.
  • IP Portfolio Management: Oversee the maintenance and enforcement of our IP portfolio, including monitoring third-party IP and identifying potential infringement.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Research and Development, Marketing, and Sales, to ensure alignment and effective communication of IP-related matters.
  • Decision Making: Make informed decisions regarding IP-related matters, including the filing and prosecution of patent applications, and the enforcement of our IP rights.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A European Patent Attorney degree with a PhD or MSc in Life Sciences, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in an IP department within the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English, and a good understanding of German and French.
  • Skills and Qualities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
