Job Description

The role of Workers Welfare Lead is crucial in ensuring the well-being and safety of workers on the Offshore. Reporting directly to the Project Management Team (PMT), this position requires a strong understanding of labor laws, regulations, and international human rights standards.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field and at least 10 years of experience in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry. Experience in worker welfare, social issues, and camp operations is highly desirable.

Key responsibilities include establishing and stewarding a comprehensive Worker Welfare management program that aligns with Project, LNG, and Ras Laffan Industrial City policies and procedures. This involves:

  • Collaborating with contractors to develop protocols for Safety, Social Works, Industrial Hygiene, Camp Management, Mental Health, Human Rights, Grievance Management, Dispute Resolution, and other welfare-related matters;
  • Providing visible leadership and oversight of contractor Worker Welfare programs and facilities throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Supporting PMT HSES Heads and Contractors in identifying Worker Welfare requirements and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations;
  • Maintaining and reviewing Worker Welfare performance data, generating reports, and recommending improvement action plans;
  • Closely monitoring camp accommodations and food standards, reporting deficiencies, and collaborating with Leadership Teams for intervention;

As a key member of the PMT, the Workers Welfare Lead will demonstrate strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
