About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our Food and Beverage Development team. As a key member of our Product Development and Design Team, you will be responsible for managing the development of our food and beverage offerings across all catering services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the development of our food and beverage products, including sourcing and building relationships with new suppliers and managing current vendors.
  • Conduct market research and attend tradeshows to stay up-to-date on global trends and ensure our offerings are current and aligned with customer expectations.
  • Collaborate with marketing to promote our food and beverage offerings through social media platforms and industry award competitions.
  • Manage the administration and tendering process for all food and beverage suppliers, including technical evaluation, planning, logistics, and budgets.
  • Source new and innovative food and beverage products in collaboration with the culinary team, aligned with our food and beverage strategy.
  • Industry benchmarking and regular reviews of food and beverage products across all hospitality sectors, evaluating customer satisfaction and researching industry and lifestyle trends.
  • Manage the product development life cycle for all food and beverage products across inflight.
  • Build strong relationships and partnerships with food and beverage suppliers to enhance and develop opportunities for on-trend product propositions.
  • Conduct supplier workshops to develop new products that can be first to market.
  • Manage the development of the wine and beverage products and distribution strategy for the QR Catering network-wide.
  • Contribute to the overarching food and beverage product development program, aligned with the airline's overall brand strategy.
  • Identify and develop promotional opportunities to market and publicize the airline's award-winning food and beverage through all media channels.
  • Manage the food, beverage, and wine cycle change process, including all printed/electronic menus and onboard food and beverage materials.
  • Support the timely purchase of all food, beverage, and wine stock items, ensuring no out-of-stock or overstock situations while maintaining robust governance and control.
  • Manage wine program, maintaining optimum stock levels and exploring in-house warehousing solutions to minimize wastage and warehouse costs.
  • Manage the planning and introduction of new food, beverage, and wine stock items, including the timely withdrawal and disposal of obsolete stock.
  • Support and make recommendations on trade-off decisions to balance risk and cost of supply.
  • Collaborate with PDD and across Catering Services on the development/specification of new products, conducting trials and providing user feedback to assist with decision-making.
  • Send out communication across the business to relevant stakeholders when making product changes to food, beverage, and wine.
  • Manage the procurement for food, beverage, and wine processes, including technical evaluation as deemed appropriate.
  • Project management, including task assignments, project coordination, budget management, coaching, and supporting team members.
About You

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to join our Product Development and Design Team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of job-related experience, with a strong background in food and beverage management within a hospitality environment.

The successful candidate will possess a wine qualification to the equivalent of WSET level 3 and have experience in logistics, equipment, and supplier management in a global environment. They will also have experience in forecasting, planning, and project/program management, as well as proven experience of managing senior stakeholders in a culturally diverse work environment.
