Job Summary and Purpose

The Employee Relations Specialist has responsibility and accountability for all Employee Relations activity within Qatar Fabrication Company. This involves providing workforce intelligence, troubleshooting risk, operating as a change agent to assist with realigning responsibilities in the organization and promoting best practice.

Key Accountabilities
  • Leads and guides the Employee Relations Team in their day-to-day operations.
  • Collaborates with the HR Manager and proposes employee relations strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Provides guidance on policy interpretation to Management and employees, whenever required.
  • Manages and resolves employee relations issues, and disciplinary cases.
  • Conducts thorough investigations into employee complaints, ensuring fair and impartial resolutions.
  • Acts as a key liaison between employees and management to facilitate transparent communication.
  • Leads negotiations and settlements when necessary, emphasizing positive employee relations.
  • Assists and supports the HR Manager in addressing legal issues related to employee relations.
  • Stays abreast of changes in employment laws and regulations, ensuring organizational practices remain compliant.
  • Manages all employment contracts, by monitoring company payroll, reviewing and validating eligible allowances and benefits, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
  • Manages all administrative circulars and decisions (e.g. early retirement program, promotion, employee transfer, penalties imposed on employees, employee loans).
  • Manages communication with employees with regards to their action letters (i.e. promotions, salary adjustments, disciplinary).
  • Oversees employees' data and records and ensures their confidentiality.
  • Manages HRMS's master data and ensures it's up to date and accurate.
  • Reviews and validates new joiners' salary and applicable allowances and benefits.
  • Reviews and validates payments to employees, i.e., reimbursements to ensure their compliance with pertaining policies/contract.
  • Provides escalation support with suggestions to ensure all queries related to employees are addressed in a prompt manner.
Employee Relations Workforce Data
  • Provides comprehensive Employee Relations workforce data reports which show the performance of the employees in terms of sickness, turnover, staff costs, dismissals, suspensions, and grievances.
  • Uses this data to help the HR Manager and Leads formulate leadership and line management development programs.
  • Uses his/her Employee Relations expertise and findings from different data sources to feed into the department's annual action plan in terms of addressing and mitigating risk.
Strengthening Engagement and Learning
  • Works with the Learning and Development Specialist to help coordinate a rigorous management by objectives culture through annual Appraisal (PMS) and subsequent supervision practice.
  • Requires 5-7 years of related experience, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a similar position/responsibility.
  • Previous experience in the Oil & Gas industry and regional experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual is an advantage.
